About the Role

This position offers an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated street cleansing maintenance team focused on delivering exceptional service. The primary responsibilities of this Grade 1 role include enhancing the cleanliness and overall quality of streets, parks, open spaces, and housing areas within Norwich City Centre. The successful candidate will engage in various tasks such as litter picking, emptying street bins, pressure washing street furniture, weeding hard surfaces, and sweeping designated areas. Additionally, the role requires providing temporary coverage during staff absences and assisting with specific tasks to uphold high standards of cleanliness. Daily reporting to a team leader regarding the condition of the areas serviced is essential, as is the ability to identify and escalate any issues encountered during the workday.

Candidates should possess a valid driving license to operate various vehicles as part of their duties. Basic maintenance of tools and equipment is also expected, along with the prompt reporting of any safety concerns or equipment defects using the designated VRC APP. It is crucial to conduct daily checks on vehicles and equipment, ensuring all findings are documented accurately. The role emphasizes the importance of promoting equality and delivering excellent customer care while adhering to health and safety policies. Requirements

  • Full UK Driving License

  • Demonstrable experience in working in a physical role

  • Evidence of having worked as part of a team

  • Ability and willingness to utilise mechanical equipment

  • Ability and willingness to be trained on and subsequently use all maintenance equipment

  • Customer service experience

  • Willingness to work in all weathers

  • Evidence of basic knowledge of health and safety

  • Ability to understand written and verbal instructions
