About the Role
The role involves executing tree maintenance operations across various activities while ensuring adherence to arboriculture standards at all client sites. The successful candidate must be prepared to work in diverse weather conditions.
Key responsibilities include organizing and allocating resources to maintain trees and hedges to a high standard in designated areas. The individual will perform maintenance tasks, monitor compliance with performance standards and health and safety regulations, and coordinate the deployment of vehicles and equipment. Collaboration with management is essential for effective workload planning and the evaluation of work methods, with a focus on proposing improvements.
Candidates must possess specific qualifications, including City & Guilds NPTC Level 2 and Level 3 awards in chainsaw operation and tree climbing. Relevant experience in aerial and ground tree work, as well as the ability to perform aerial rescues, is required. The ideal applicant should demonstrate initiative, teamwork skills, and a commitment to customer care while complying with all health and safety regulations.
Pay for this role is dependent on experience and attaining an LGV licence.
Requirements
Essential
City & Guilds NPTC Level 2 Award in Chainsaw Maintenance and Cross Cutting.
City & Guilds NPTC Level 2 Award in Felling and Processing Trees up to 380mm.
City & Guilds NPTC Level 2 Award in Tree Climbing and Rescue. City & Guilds NPTC Level 3 Award in Aerial Cutting of Trees with a Chainsaw Using Free-fall Techniques
Experience in aerial and ground tree work.
Experience in performing aerial rescues.
Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
Skills in customer care and the ability to communicate effectively.
Ability to identify tree species.
Full UK category B driving licence due to travel between various sites.
Desirable.
Category B+E driving Licence/LGV
Experience in carrying out visual tree inspections.
Willing to undertake training and successfully complete C1+ E entitlement within 6 months from the date of appointment
